Fire-Safe Villages & Towns

The catastrophic hell that came to Paradise, California in 2018, destroying a small city of 30,000 and killing 82 citizens has once again provided an example of how not to design communities in fire-prone areas. This initiative proposes compact towns - rather than sprawling single-family development - with a perimeter more easily defended from fire and with swimming pools and pumps configured on the fire-winds side of the community to deliver a “curtain of water” during fire events.
